Bent's Old Fort - Reconstructed, after careful archaeological research, 1830s fur trading fort, built by the Bent brothers. It was a major commercial stop along the historic Sante Fe Trail. The fort has been refurnished with period reproductions, antiques and artifacts excavated at the fort site.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument - This is one of the most spectacular, steep-walled canyons in North America with a 2,000 foot chasm cut by the Gunnison River over a span of two million years.
Colorado National Monument - The forces of nature have sculpted this land filled with sheer-walled canyons, magnificent monoliths, and uniquely shaped spires and columns.
Curecanti National Recreation Area - Over 60 miles long, this area includes Blue Mesa Reservoir (the largest body of water in Colorado) and two other lakes.
Dinosaur National Monument - The 211,085 acres of the monument offer some of the best sandstone canyon scenery, along with a world famous fossil quarry.

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument - A massive volcanic eruption 35 million years ago buried a large lake and the surrounding countryside, preserving some of America's finest insect, plant and fish fossils. Large fossil tree trunks and stumps have also been preserved here.
Garden of the Gods was dedicated in 1909 and is a free city park filled w ith wonders of nature. An abundance of plants and animal life can be found thro ughout it's 1,350 acres, as well as the magnificent red sandstone rock formation s. Many of these are over 300 million years old and were sculpted by time by er osion. The garden offers the best hiking, picniking, horseback riding and photo graphy in the region. No trip to Pikes Peak Country is complete without a stop at Garden of the Gods, a registered natural landmark.
Great Sand Dunes National Monument - Covering more than 565 square miles, the monument has towering mountains of sand more than 1,000 feet high.
Hovenweep National Monument - Unique stone masonry towers line canyon heads within the six seperate and remote clusters of dwellings built at the climax of the Pueblo Indian culture nine hundred years ago.
Mesa Verde National Park - The 52,000 acre park contains over 4,000 archaeological sites, some dating back thousands of years. More than 600 cliff dwellings line the canyon walls. There are five spectacular walking tours open to the public.
Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado's largest national park with streams, valleys and mountain lakes, has 113 peaks more than 10,000 feet above sea level, and 78 peaks over 12,000 feet above sea level.
