Japser National Park, Alberta - Perhaps one of the most famous sightseeing attractions in Jasper, and the Canadian Rockies as a whole are the Columbia Icefields. You'll see glaciers that come off the icefield all along that aptly name scenic drive between Jasper National Park and, Banff.

The Columbia Icefields are a whopping 325 square km, and range in depth from 100 to 365 metres in depth. One of the best places to reach out literally touch the Columbia Glacier is at the Athabasca Glacier. Here you'll find a Parks Canada centre that can help you get into tours that take you on ice walks, learn about the glacier, and even take you on driving tours over the ice in special vehicles, like the on pictured here.
