Colorado is well-known for awesome skiing and snowboarding and other winter sports such as snowmobiling, dogsledding and snowshoeing. Famous resorts such as Aspen, Vail and attract people from all over the world, while smaller resorts such as Steamboat, Cooper and A-Basin are local favorites. Colorado skiing is easily accessed through Denver.

Video Transcript:

The Colorado Rocky Mountains is a highly-acclaimed spot for winter sports. There are 27 ski resorts in the state, offering vast terrain from backcountry tree runs to deep powder fields for all types of skiers and snowboarders. More than 50 Colorado mountains peak at over 14,000 feet, painting a picture with blue skies,  green pines, and snowy peaks from winter to spring.

Colorado ski areas are vast, versatile and well maintained with excellent equipment.

The state is a hotspot for professional training and athlete competitions like the Winter X Games in Aspen.

Colorado’s complex climate is a target for heavy snowfalls that bring deep, fluffy powder across the mountain range while keeping a reputation as one of the sunniest states in the country.

Aside from the slopes, Colorado’s winter sports continues with miles of tracks for cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and many other traditional activities in both the wilderness and in the ski towns. It’s an endless day of liveliness for this winter playground. So get a taste of Colorado winters by checking out more stories and videos right here, at Rockies.com
