Colorado has some of the most famous mountain biking in the Rockies. You’ll find Aspen, Telluride, Grand Junction and other great areas that cater to mountain biking, and are great Colorado vacation destinations. The Colorado Western Slope, with a biking season that lasts about 11 months, and interesting terrain such as volcanic rock, steep canyons and dry river beds.

Planning to test out Colorado’s famous mountain biking trails? There are many top destination choices around the state to consider.

Aspen offers trails amongst Colorado’s gorgeous Roaring Fork Valley. Tracks stretch for 20 to 30 miles with breathtaking views of the Elk Mountains.

Telluride is a world-class mountain biking destination for all levels. Trails run along the San Juan Mountains, down old mining roads, and luscious green meadows.

One of the country’s most famous areas for mountain biking is the Colorado Western Slope, specifically Grand Junction and Fruita. Known for its extensive biking season lasting from February through December, thousands of miles of singletrack trails have been built by bikers, for bikers. Since 1995 the area has brought tens of thousands of bikers each year to tackle its dry riverbeds, volcanic rock and steep canyons.
