A trip to the Colorado Rockies isn’t all ski resorts and national parks, although we don’t blame you for having that impression. But next time your in Colorado, take a chance to do some cultural sightseeing. Trust us, you won’t regret it, and it’ll be another good reason to take your vacation in Colorado.
Here’s a quick guide to arts and culture in Colorado.
Denver, Colorado as the largest city here, is naturally a good first stop. Its Golden Triangle District is where you’ll find the Colorado Ballet, the Denver Art Museum, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and over 50 art galleries. You’ll also find plenty fine dining and great shopping in this area.
Just minutes away in Lower Downtown Denver, known by locals as LoDo, yo’ll find The Museum of Contemporary Art. In the Sante Fe district, you’ll find the Museo de las Americas.
Denver also has Colorado’s largest professional theatre company, the Denver Center Theatre Company, which performs a wide range of shows that’ll interest any audience.
Outside of Denver, you’ll find a nationally renowned theatre and dance scene. There’s the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet , the Creede Repertory Theatre in Creede, Colorado.
All around Colorado, in towns like Aspen, Boulder, Gunnison, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, you’ll find great museums, galleries, theaters, music and other events that will surprise and delight you on your Colorado vacation.
