The 250 km expanse of Icefield Parkway that lies between Lake Louise and Jasper is one of the greatest mountain drives in the world. Snowcapped mountain peaks, rivers and lakes, waterfalls, and glaciers make this drive one of the most desired experiences when visiting Alberta’s Canadian Rockies. With many rest stops for admiring the wondrous vistas, the Parkway is easy to drive while offering numerous off-road hiking trails and campsites. Take your time to enjoy the route, making sure you visit Columbia Icefield where one can learn about the glacier and take walking or snow coach trips on its surface.

Trams

The Jasper Tramway is the highest and longest aerial tramway in Canada. Here the visitor can appreciate a narrated and guided mountain lift tour through the Canadian Rockies of Alberta. With breathtaking views, the arrival at the top allows you to hike through one of the many available trails or enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Go late in the day, watch the sunset, and stay for dinner!
