LAKE LOUISE, Alberta (Rockies.com) – The Canadian Rockies are replete with glassy lakes, tranquil rivers and those gently burbling streams beloved by naturalists the world over.
Fear not, outdoor adventurers: they’ve got their wild waters, too.
Head on up to Kicking Horse River near Lake Louise – the name rather says it all, doesn’t it? – and check in with Wild Water Rafting Adventures. They’ll set you up for the trip of a lifetime on the Kicking Horse, or any of the other exciting rivers in nearby Yoho National Park.
Young and old, all are welcome. If you’re looking for a milder adventure, they’ll take you to some of Banff National Park’s beautiful rivers.
You’re welcome to go rafting from mid-May to mid-September. There are trips departing daily from both Banff and Lake Louise.
Or set your oar with Kootenay River Runners. They also offer trips on the Kicking Horse River, along with trips along the Kootenay River and on Toby Creek. All their trips include river gear and a large barbecue lunch.
So if you’re in the mood to go a little wild on a river, come up to the Canadian Rockies and indulge yourself in a wet adventure you won’t soon forget.
