New Denver, British Columbia is a small village, and home to artists and woodsmen that escaped to this mountain paradise because of its amazing hiking, canoeing, boating, sailing, fishing, and climbing activities. New Denver boasts its own rock climbing school as well as many shops for fishing, and sailing. New Denver, BC sits on Slocan Lake which offers some of Canada’s best fishing, and water activities.

New Denver sits in the Slocan Valley, a historic area that resonates with the silver boom of the 1890s. Visit the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre which commemorates the displacement of Japanese-Canadians during World War II. Other areas of interest include the Kohan Reflection Garden where you will find gorgeous displays of plants and flowers designed by Ray Nekkel in honor of the Japanese Canadians who were interned in New Denver. Hiking is a wonderful way to enjoy the area, with its vast alpine meadows and beautiful views of Slocan Lake. Enjoy the golf courses near Winlaw and New Denver, or simply take a stroll in town to shop and dine. The Silvery Slocan heritage tour is a 323 km (200 mi) scenic drive that will take you back in time, a feature not to be missed.
