It must be either the warm sun or the left over weekend alcohol that has me thinking romantically up here in Banff National Park. The Canadian Rockies are always magical and stunning. In winter, the mountains look like they are dripping in jewellery (you can steal that for an ad). Towns like Lake Louise and Jasper National Park were made for honeymooning. As good as it is in winter, summer is an entirely different setup. Outdoor weddings, stunning, colorful photos and perhaps a motorbike ride to the church. It is an inspiring place to start your married life so at least if all goes wrong on that front, you will always have these memories!
There are some unbelievable locations for weddings and honeymoons in the Canadian Rockies'.
Wedding Planners
To be honest with a little bit of research, it isn’t that difficult to organize your own wedding but that is coming from the man who writes about and lives in Banff. If you are coming from afar or just don’t have the time, there are lots of wedding planners to choose from. Most are local in Banff / Lake Louise and there are a few from Calgary that bring excellent reputations with them.
Locations
Take your pick. If you go through all the correct regulations, you can just have the ceremony by one of the beautiful lakes. Most hotels do weddings from the luxurious Fairmont to the more budget minded accommodations.
Honeymoon
You are already there. Rent a car and start driving and you won’t be disappointed…unless you drive off a cliff….careful of that. Banff and Canmore are full of great romantic activities such as helicopter rides over the Rockies, white water rafting and wildlife viewing. Lake Louise and Jasper are simply stunning places to enjoy some quiet romantic time in your first days as a married couple. A marriage could not get off to a more perfect start than with a honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies.
