Rafting and more await in the Canadian Rockies
Jim from North Carolina writes: “My wife, three kids ages 14, 17, 21 (and I) would like to visit the Canadian Rockies. We live in North Carolina and (are) considering early June for a visit. We don’t want to break the bank to come out west. We would need lodging for 5. We’d like to see Jasper, Calgary, Banff (maybe Glacier) and
possibly take the train ride to Vancouver if it isn’t too expensive. We like to hike, maybe take a short (not too high level) raft trip, enjoy the food, people and sites. If you could help us or put us in touch with someone who can, please let us know. Thank you.”
Of course we can help … and we can put you in touch with people who can give you even more.
To begin, you’re in the right place for an overview. There are a wealth of resources on www.rockies.com to help you plan your Canadian Rockies itinerary. Given your stated ideas, Jim, here are a few links within www.rockies.com that you might be interested in:

There are two more resources we think can help you immensely. They have a lot to offer when it comes to vacations in the Canadian Rockies.
The first is Wild Water Adventures. You want to go rafting? Here are your rafting experts. They have an exclusive license to lead rafting expeditions in the Kicking Horse River, one of the great rafting rivers you’ll find anywhere. It’s one of the main highlights of Yoho National Park, a smaller park near Banff, and Wild Water Adventures has built quite a business on its waters.
The great thing about the Kicking Horse is that it offers so much variety. Whatever experience you’re after, from a gentle glide to a whitewater hair-raiser, it’s there to be found on the Kicking Horse, and the folks at White Water Adventures will be happy to bring it to you. They handle every kind of group, from the single adventurer toThe collections of 20 or more, and they can help you not only with the rafting but also with transportation to and from the rafting site and with setting up your vacation beforehand.
The service is world-class. They aim to leave you with the most memorable vacation you’ve ever had, and toward that end they provide everything you could need to make your trip a success: equipment, lodging assistance, great food, single-day or multi-day adventures, and more.

The other resource is Banff Adventures. Whatever you want to find in the Canadian Rockies, the folks at Banff Adventures can help you find it. Rafting? Of course, and plenty of it. But not just rafting! Hiking, fishing, exploring … it’s all here. Banff Adventures can arrange your arrival, your departure, and everything in between.
There’s no end of things to do in a place as huge as the Rockies, and thanks to Banff Adventures, you’ll get a chance to plan all of it before you leave your home. They can help you find the best places to stay, the best food to eat, and the best adventures around. Of course, if you’re only planning to stay for a little while, there’s no way you’ll be able to see and do all of that, but that just leaves so much for the next vacation, doesn’t it?
