King Edward Hotel, Banff Accommodation

Banff National Park, Alberta

Located right in the heart of Banff, the King Edward Hotel has been around serving tourists since 1904 making it the second oldest hotel in Banff after the renowned Banff Springs Hotel. With views of the bustling streets of Banff Avenue as well as the towering snow capped mountains, it has a lot to offer before even checking in! All the sights, activities, dining and shopping that Banff offers is on the doorstep and when the temperatures are dropping faster than a soccer star in the penalty box, this is the ideal place to spend a few nights in Banff.

Stay right in the heart of Banff Avenue.

There are 21 modern and well kept rooms in this old building with all the modern conveniences and amenities you have come to expect in a good Canadian Rockies hotel. There is also free underground heated parking so technically you could completely avoid being outside! Another reason not to leave is the famous and delicious Maple Leaf restaurant which is right under the hotel. The food has long been considered some of the best in Banff and the service is second to none. There is a host of bars within a few seconds walk and if you fancy carrying the night on until the early hours, Banff’s two nightclubs are within a one minute walk. This is especially useful at the end of a long night.

There are six different kinds of rooms to choose from depending on what you are looking for. The family room is spacious and features one King and two single beds so no one has to sleep on the floor. These rooms are fitted with everything a small family would need on vacation and really go a long way to cutting down costs. The standard room is essentially a smaller version but with all the same luxuries on offer. The Banff Springs may be older and more luxurious but it is also a fair walk out of town and much more costly. Motels may be cheaper but less luxurious. For comfort, history and convenience at affordable prices, accommodations like the King Edward are a great choice.
